UPDATE
As COVID-19 restrictions have lifted, the New Jersey Real Estate Commission has shifted back to the customary license renewal cycle for 2023. NJ real estate agents no longer have additional time to renew their real estate license. All New Jersey Real Estate agents have a license renewal deadline of June 30th.
Happy renew year to everyone! Every odd numbered year, New Jersey real estate agents must renew their license with the state. For NJ referral agents at General Referral, the process is even easier.
In addition to saving money on Realtor fees, among other benefits, our referral agents are not required to complete CE and we even automate the process of paying the state’s license renewal fee.
Important Dates for NJ Real Estate License Renewals
April 1st. Qualifying questionnaires are open for completion. Your license may not be renewed until you complete your online questionnaire.
April 30th. All 12 continuing education credits must completed by this date. The state imposes a late penalty of $200.
June 5th. General Referral takes care of your license renewal to make sure it’s done on time.
June 30th. Deadline for New Jersey real estate agent license renewal.
Real estate licenses not renewed by the June 30th deadline may still be reinstated for up to two years, but will go inactive. If you have been inactive for the two year period, now is the time to save your license before it’s terminated.
